Adventures of Day 1 @ Telluride patient safety conference in Napa, CA

A range of emotions and sensations was felt at day 1 of the Telluride patient safety conference. Tiredness from the early start but coffee fixed that. The story of Lewis Blackman really hit a chord with me as a mother. I placed myself in Helen’s place and a wave of grief overcame me. I reflected on  her situation and was reminded of the reasons why I am here, and why patient safety is so important. I want to prevent a mother from ever going through that situation if possible. The Domino Game brought new energy in me, mostly from being able to leave the cold tundra of the lecture room and being under the hot sun. After more presentations and discussions of patient safety, another game to end the day in a high note was played (well low for me as I fell during the last bit, but overall I had a great time!). Looking forward to the beginning of day 2.
