Throughout the first day today we felt many emotions – anger, guilt, sadness, sympathy, but at the end of the day I felt mostly inspired. All of us have been involved or know someone who has been the victim of a medical error (whether it be as the patient or the provider.) After experiencing a tragedy as horrible as losing a loved one it would be easy to become bitter and resentful towards the medical system, but for people like Helen or Carole to use their experiences as a motivation to improve the broken system it is truly incredible and inspirational. Their stories will never be forgotten.
