Today, we started with a difficult video involving Michael skolnik’s story, which led us to an interesting informed consent talk. I find informed consent a very difficult topic especially from the point of view of a pediatrician. We then had some great residents talk about QI and the great work they are doing at their programs. Finally we wrapped up with John Nance and his great and interesting point of views. I thought he brought so many great topics to our discussion and some of things that really resonated with me included when he said the three tiers to human safety, that we are trained for the 20 century, how much we spend on healthcare in U.S., and finally the inevitable fact that we as human beings are inherently flawed.
