I got my first experience in patient quality and safety as a chief resident. I had numerous roles, including reviewing and following up on the Safety Reports involving residents, leading clinical case reviews, and being a part of multidisciplinary quality improvement teams. This role allowed me to have a seat at the table with leaders across the hospital and has led me to want to make patient quality and safety part of my career going forward.
I am currently a fellow in Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Leaders in Informatics, Quality, and Systems. I am really excited to be attending the AELPS meeting. I am looking forward to the additional skills and tools I’ll be gaining and the networking and mentors to help prepare me for a future in quality and safety.
