Having had the opportunity to be exposed to several different hospital systems throughout the years as an observer, volunteer, researcher, and medical student, I have always been fascinated by the discrepancies in the quality of patient care and the overall patient experience. While some hospitals have impressed me on multiple levels, others have left me wondering what can be done to improve the overall patient experience. I am looking forward to the Telluride Experience, the opportunity to learn about what is being done in order to standardize quality of patient care throughout different hospital systems, and the unique interdisciplinary setting where we will learn what further steps we, as future leaders in medicine, can take to uphold the quality of patient care and safety.
