Raising our standards

Today we had a great conversation about how easy and how tempting it can be as medical professionals to grow accustomed to a culture of physician-centered medicine, a culture that serves ourselves, our co-workers, and the status quo. However, we have a calling that is higher than what is currently accepted as the standard of care. Our code of ethics as physicians and nurses demands that we are always transparent, never dismissive, and work each day to build a culture that prioritizes the safety of our patients above all else.
